Varnish Software takes off in the DACH region
DUSSELDORF– February 8, 2023 – Varnish Software, a leading provider of software solutions for content delivery networks, caching, streaming, and content delivery, has established a German office. Based in Düsseldorf, the local team will improve customer and partner support in the DACH region and drive the company’s growth.
Varnish Software is now represented with its own branch office in the DACH region. The company, which originates from Sweden, has opened an office in Düsseldorf and founded a GmbH (limited liability company) to serve the growing demand for solutions for the fast and reliable delivery of web and streaming content in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. In this region, well-known retailers such as Deichmann and Douglas as well as renowned media houses, including BurdaForward, the NZZ media group (Neue Zürcher Zeitung) or Sky Europe already rely on Varnish Enterprise. In addition, around 250,000 websites use the open-source solution Varnish Cache.
The caching technology from Varnish is characterized by the highest performance and stability as well as maximum scalability and flexibility. Companies use it, for example, to deliver web stores, news sites, or audio and video content without long loading times, downtimes, or loss of quality, even in times of peak demand. In this way, they ensure a positive user experience and prevent loss of revenue and reputation.
Varnish Software’s activities in the DACH region are managed by Marco Plätzer, who joined the company two years ago as Country Manager Germany and has built up a team of experienced sales and technical experts. This team is expected to grow further in the coming months in order to support existing customers even more comprehensively and to win new customers and partners. Up to now, Varnish Software has relied on direct sales in Germany, but will also work with selected channel partners in the future. The focus will be on solution providers who supply retailers, publishers, streaming providers, cloud providers, and telecommunications providers with customized solutions.
The aim of the stronger commitment in the German-speaking region is to demonstrate the advantages of Varnish Enterprise to Varnish Cache users. These include additional modules for specific use cases and professional support.
The company also plans to participate in key industry events such as the Mobile World Congress (MWC, Feb. 27 to March 2 in Barcelona), ANGA COM (May 23 to 25 in Cologne) and the International Broadcasting Convention (IBC, Sept. 15 to 18 in Amsterdam).
